Bushra's Story

Bushra's Story

Bushra Wahabuddin’s parents both passed away from illnesses. Bushra had no formal education but, luckily, she found work in a beauty parlour and through her determination to succeed, soon opened up a small salon of her own at her home in Korangi, earning approximately Rs.4000 (£20) a month.

Bushra worked diligently to ensure the success of her business. However, one day she realised that her vision had begun to deteriorate and affect her work. Eventually, she could hardly see and had no choice but to close down her parlour - the future now seemed very bleak. A year later, after hearing about LRBT’s services, she underwent surgery for cataracts in both eyes.

Bushra has now restarted her small salon and is once again able to support herself! Bushra says: “I aspire to provide excellent services to my clients and am deeply thankful to all the doctors, staff and the donors for giving me back my lost vision.”

The gift of sight was given to Bushra thanks to regular donations we receive. Each one is a ray of hope, so do make a donation today to show your support.
