Staff nurse Daisy Bhatti is a pillar of her local community in Karachi. Working at a Government hospital and volunteering at her local Church, she is well loved by family and friends. Recognised for her kindness and dedication she explains that she chose nursing because she wanted to “help and protect humanity”.
Daisy gradually became aware of her deteriorating eyesight but it was not until she had difficulty writing up medical records that awareness changed to concern. Her condition became more apparent while administering an injection to a patient and she realised that she must seek help. Having previously accompanied her young niece to LRBT’s hospital in Korangi, Daisy recalled how impressed she had been with the organisation and calibre of care. She decided she would seek help from LRBT once again and was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. Surgery was performed on 11th November on one eye and when she is fully recovered, surgery to her other eye will also be provided by LRBT.
Daisy has returned to work happy in the knowledge that she can take better care of her patients with good vision. Daisy believes that God has rewarded her for her service to humanity by surrounding her with kind and caring medical staff during her time of need.
